Warsaw, 2nd October, 2014 - RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, and Microchip are expanding their already very successful partnership in Poland. Latest sign are seminars that the distributor holds in cooperation with the leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors.

USB is becoming more common in embedded systems not only as a replacement solution for disappearing serial ports on the computer, but also to be able to connect USB devices, like thumb drives, to an embedded application. The attendees of the seminar will learn about this communication protocol and its features. Basic USB architecture and standards will be presented to help audiences evaluate the capability of Microchip's USB Solutions.

This seminar will also give an idea of what kind of tasks engineers will need to do, and what factors they will have to consider when designing a USB application. Demonstrations will be presented, including use of a hardware USB protocol analyzer.

The first module explains USB fundamentals. The second section focusses on standalone products (HUBs, switch, Battery charger, protocol converters). Afterwards the attendees learn more about microcontroller based solutions. Live demos and programming are also in the agenda. The duration of the seminar is approximately 3 hours.

The seminar takes place on the 9th October at 9:00 AM at RS Components, Warsaw ul. Puławska 303, and starts with a breakfast. The Attendance fee is 154 zł and includes Microchip's latest low cost USB development tool - DV164139-2 which supports a range of crystal free PIC® MCUs . All further details will be available via the RS online Community DesignSpark
